The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch at 2:59 p.m. on Monday valid from Tuesday 3 p.m. until Wednesday 8 a.m. for Williamsburg, Horry and Georgetown counties.
The weather service states, “Total snow accumulations up to two inches possible.”
“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes,” explains the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.”
This watch is in effect until Wednesday at 8 a.m.

Stay calm when stranded:If you become stranded, remain composed. Inform someone about your situation and location. Avoid attempting to walk to safety. Indicate that you need assistance by attaching a cloth to your car’s antenna or mirror, and make your vehicle more visible by using the dome light and flashers
Be aware of snow plows:Keep an eye out for snow plows and allow them ample room to pass. Only overtake a plow when you have a clear view of the road ahead.
