The National Weather Service issued an updated report at 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday for snow until Thursday at 10 a.m. for Dillon, Florence, Marion, Williamsburg, Horry and Georgetown counties.
“Dangerous road conditions will continue through at least Thursday morning. Any limited melting that occurred today will quickly refreeze this evening and tonight as temperatures drop into the teens. Expansive snow cover will make travel very difficult, especially on secondary roads. If you must travel, slow down and allow for plenty of space between yourself and other vehicles. Be especially mindful on bridges, overpasses, and secondary roads,” according to the weather service.
According to the weather service, “If you plan to drive or walk, remain alert for ice. Slow your driving speed and use care when walking on sidewalks, driveways or parking lots. Slips and falls constitute a leading cause of injuries during winter weather.”
This alert is in effect until Thursday at 10 a.m.
