The National Weather Service issued a tropical storm watch at 11:03 a.m. on Wednesday in effect until 7:15 p.m. for Horry County.
“A Tropical Storm Watch means tropical storm-force winds are possible somewhere within this area within the next 48 hours LOCATIONS AFFECTED – Surfside Beach – Myrtle Beach – North Myrtle Beach WIND – LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Below tropical storm force wind – Peak Wind Forecast: 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph,” according to the weather service.
This watch is in effect until 7:15 p.m.
